Electronics Recycling

Secure, Responsible Electronics Recycling

Have old, unused, or broken electronics taking up space? Whether you're upgrading a device or simply decluttering, proper disposal is essential—not just for the environment, but for your data security. At Ayre Tech, we responsibly recycle a wide range of consumer electronics, ensuring all data is securely wiped to DoD and NIST standards upon intake. Trust us to handle your devices with care and help reduce electronic waste—safely and responsibly.

What Happens to My Device?

At Ayre Tech, we follow the principles of Responsible Recycling: Test, Repair,  Reuse, Recycle.

Data Removal
Every device is first assessed for data, which is securely wiped and destroyed to protect your privacy.

Repair & Refurbish
We evaluate the device’s functionality—if it can be repaired or refurbished, we restore it for resale or donation.

Component Recycling
If a device is beyond repair or no longer useful, it’s dismantled and sorted into materials like plastic, metal, and glass.

Material Recovery
These components are then sent to trusted recycling partners to be processed into reusable raw materials.

If you Have any questions on what we recycle, please feel free to call 202-556-4274 or contact us

*All data containing media is wiped according to DoD and NIST 800-88 standards.

What We Accept:

Data Destruction

All data-containing devices are sanitized in accordance with NIST SP 800-88 standards. We begin with logical data destruction, ensuring all information is securely and irreversibly erased. Devices that fail this process are subject to physical destruction through degaussing and shredding, guaranteeing complete data elimination.

Industrial Grade Formatting:

In alignment with NIST Special Publication 800-88, we utilize a range of secure erasure methods—including Clear, Purge, cryptographic erasure, and firmware-based wiping. These techniques allow data to be securely removed without physically extracting the drives, making the process more energy-efficient and time-effective while preserving the hardware for potential reuse.

ITAD Solutions Available:

  • Asset Inventory

  • Drive Inventory

  • Certificate of Destruction
